Frequently Asked Questions
Who is MASE Academy for?
MASE Academy is for architecture students, junior architects, and early-stage architectural visualization artists who want to create clearer, more intentional exterior images.
It is also suitable for more experienced artists, especially if you feel your images look “fine” technically, but fail to clearly communicate an idea.
What is unique about MASE Academy’s teaching approach?
Instead of teaching you what buttons to press, we teach you why an image works — so you can apply the framework across different tools, projects, and workflows.
The goal is to help you think more clearly, work faster, and make fewer but better visual decisions.
What will I learn?
MASE Academy courses focus on how to design images, not just how to produce them.
Across all courses, you’ll learn how to:
- — think clearly about what an image needs to communicate
- — make deliberate decisions about framing, composition, and hierarchy
- — use light, contrast, and context to guide attention
- — avoid overworking images that don’t need more detail
- — apply fundamental visual principles across different tools and workflows
The goal is to give you a way of thinking that transfers between projects, software, and visual styles — so you’re not dependent on a single technique, tool, or trend.
Are these courses about rendering or specific software?
No.
These courses are not rendering tutorials and are not tied to a specific software package. The principles taught apply across SketchUp, Revit, Archicad, 3ds Max, or any other modeling environment.
The focus is on visual fundamentals and decision-making — how to design images that communicate clearly, regardless of the tools used. AI is treated as one of many available tools that can support speed, iteration, or refinement, but never as a replacement for intent, composition, or hierarchy.
Can I use this workflow on real client, competition or portfolio projects?
Yes.
The framework is designed for professional and academic use, including client presentations, competitions, and portfolios.
It helps you decide what an image should communicate — which is valuable regardless of project scale or audience.
Do I need prior AI knowledge to take this course?
No prior AI knowledge is required.
AI is introduced gradually and used in a controlled, constrained way.
You’ll learn when to use it, when not to use it, and how to avoid losing authorship or clarity.
